MystiK ArtZ Works by Kevin Baker

Bio

I was born and raised in El Paso, Texas.  During high school, I took many art classes, including a commercial illustration art course at the vocational school.  I then studied Drawing and Sculpture under Aaron Mosley, at El Paso, community college.  Later I moved to Alamosa Colorado, where I studied Drawing, Painting, and Art History at Adams State College.  Upon graduating I attended Metro State College in Denver and earned a K -12 teaching certification. Upon completion of classes I taught Drawing and Painting, at Contemporary Learning Academy. Later moving to Tularosa New Mexico, where I at teach Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture at the local high school.

While in Denver I had the humble opportunity to show in many places, including The Art Institute of Colorado, Spark Gallery, Edge Gallery, CHAC, The Pirate, and Oh My Goddess.  Later I was able to show my work in Ruidoso New Mexico, at The Dreamcather, and the local coffee shop, Sacred Grounds.

In my works, I try to portray the soul and its relation to our environment.  I believe that we are all connected, not just to other people, but to the Earth and everything it encompasses. I listen to my muse while she still sings to me, and this is what is produced.  My work is not of any religion, as it is spiritual. It is my hope that my artwork will speak beyond the borders of religion to all those who seek the divine.
